Docker Training at igmGuru is designed to help you learn containerization from the fundamentals through practical Docker workflows. The course covers Docker Engine, Docker CLI, images, containers, Dockerfiles, storage, networking, Docker Compose, Docker Hub, Docker Scout, BuildKit, Buildx, Swarm, CI/CD, security, troubleshooting, and Kubernetes basics. It also covers current Docker security practices, including SBOMs, image provenance, Sigstore/Cosign, Notation, Docker Hardened Images, and Docker Debug.
Docker remains a core container technology used across software development, DevOps, cloud computing, microservices, CI/CD, and application deployment. Current Docker workflows also include BuildKit, Buildx, Docker Compose V2, Docker Scout, image attestations, Docker Hardened Images, and container security practices. Docker skills are commonly listed alongside Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Linux, automation, and DevOps skills in cloud and DevOps roles.
This course focuses on practical Docker administration, application containerization, security, orchestration, and certification preparation.
You will build Docker skills from container fundamentals through image management, application deployment, security, orchestration, and certification preparation.
This course is suitable for learners who want Docker skills for software development, DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, or container-focused roles.
Docker Buildx provides extended build capabilities through BuildKit, while Docker Desktop includes current Docker development and container management tools.
You will develop practical skills for working with Docker in development, DevOps, cloud, and container deployment workflows.
Docker knowledge can support roles where containerization is used with DevOps, cloud, automation, CI/CD, or Kubernetes.
The Docker Certified Associate (DCA) is an official Docker certification administered through Mirantis. Mirantis acquired Docker's Enterprise Platform Business in November 2019 and currently administers the Docker certification program.
The DCA certification is valid for two years. Mirantis also states that Docker does not publish a fixed passing score for the examination.
DCA preparation focuses on six published competency areas:
The course covers these areas through Docker fundamentals, image management, container orchestration, networking, storage, security, and related practical concepts.
After successfully completing the igmGuru Docker Training Course, learners receive an igmGuru Course Completion Certificate.
This certificate confirms successful completion of the igmGuru course and is separate from the official Docker Certified Associate (DCA) certification.
The DCA examination is administered separately by Mirantis. Learners who want the official DCA credential must register for and pass the DCA examination through the official certification process.
