Houdini Training

Prerequisites

• Basic understanding of 3D and computer graphics concepts.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling, animation, or visual effects is helpful but not mandatory.
• No prior Houdini experience is required.

• Navigate Houdini and work with its node-based procedural workflow.
• Create and modify 3D geometry using procedural techniques.

• Create animations and understand rigging and character workflows.
• Build materials, lighting, and scenes using Solaris, USD, MaterialX, and Karma.
• Use VEX and Python for procedural workflows and automation.
• Create particle, Pyro, RBD, FLIP, and Vellum simulations.
• Build procedural terrain, environments, and large-scale worlds.
• Explore character FX, hair, fur, cloth, and grooming workflows.
• Create procedural assets for Unreal Engine and Unity using Houdini Engine.
• Use PDG/TOPs for procedural processing and production workflows.
• Apply Houdini skills to real-world 3D, VFX, animation, and procedural content projects.
